PRAYER:Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent I.e., the District Revenue Officer, Madurai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2017 on merits and in accordance with law within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court. For Petitioner : Mr.S.Visvalingam For Respondent : Mrs.S.Srimathy Special Government Pleader.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.By consent of both the parties, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission. 3.The petitioner seeks refund of the mistakenly collected amount of Rs.66,998/- towards Urban Land Tax. In this regard, he has given a representation dated 14.10.2017 to the respondent herein. Since no order has been passed, this Writ Petition has been filed.

4.The respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2017 and pass orders on merits in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.The Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
