O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent to accord permission and provide adequate police protection for conducting "Aadal Padal Cultural Program" which is scheduled to be taken place on 29.03.2018 in connection with the 223rd year Panguni Vurchava Festival of "SRI KALI AMMAN TEMPLE" at Thirumal Natham Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District. 2.Heard Mr.M.Pitchai Muthu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Shanmuga Selvam, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is one of the festival committee member of the said temple. The villagers are conducting the "Aadal Padal Cultural Program" for the past several years and this year, they have decided to conduct the "Aadal Padal Cultural Program" on 29.03.2018 and for that, they have already given a representation dated 24.03.2018 to the respondent, but sofar, no order has been passed. 4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has submitted that there is a law and order problem and hence, the petitioner's representation is kept pending. 5.Considering the aforesaid submissions, the respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner, dated 24.03.2018 and dispose of the same at the earliest. At the time of passing order, the respondent has to keep in mind the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case of Church of God (Full Gospel) in India Vs. K.K.R, Majestic Colony Welfare Association and Ors, reported in 2001 - 1 - L.W. (Crl.) 233. 6.With the aforesaid observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
