This Criminal Original petition is filed for a direction to the respondent police to file final report in Crime No.135 of 2016 within a stipulated period.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Criminal side) appearing for the respondent.

3. On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered as against the petitioner in Crime No.135 of 2016 for the offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 506(ii) I.P.C., and Section 4 of Women Harassment Act.

4. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is not involved in the crime and that due to some personal motive, the case was foisted as against the petitioner. It is in these circumstances, the petitioner states that the case is pending without any progress and there is no further investigation. Since the pendency of the criminal complaint causes mental agony, the petitioner states that he was constrained to file the above Criminal Original petition.

5. The learned Government Advocate(Criminal Side) however on instructions submitted that the investigation is almost over and that final report will be filed within a period of two months. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Recording the statement of the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), this Criminal Original petition is allowed and the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation and to file final report in Crime No.135 of 2016 within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
