This petition has been filed to direct the respondent to grant permission and protection for yearly festival of Sri Umaiyandi Karuppar, Madurai Veeran Kovil situated at Velampatti Eluppur Post, Pudukkottai District, for the "Adal Padal dance Programme" on 14.01.2018 at about 06.00pm., based on the petitioner's representation to the respondent dated 04.01.2018. 2.Heard, Mr.K.Srinivasaragavan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Anand, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that every year the village people are celebrating the festival by conducting the programs such as 'Adalum Padalum'' dance Program, Likewise, on 14.01.2018, also they decided to celebrate the festival at the above said temple and for that, they have already given a representation dated 04.01.2018 to the respondent and no order has been passed till now.

4.The learned Government Advocate has not raised any serious objection.

5.Considering the above said submission, the respondent / Inspector of Police, is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 04.01.2018 and dispose of the same on or before 13.01.2018.

6.With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
