Respondents PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to allow the petitioner to pay the electricity bill on installment basis and to give service connection in the petitioner's name in Service no.044-021-313 of Sri Gomathiammal Naveena Rice Mill situated at Poigaimedu Post, Veerasigamani, Sankarankovil Taluk, Tirunelveli District on the basis of the petitioner's representations dated 10.04.2019 and 16.04.2019 within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner. 2.The writ petitioner's father Late.Sankarnarayanan was running a rice mill. The said rice mill had an electricity service connection. The petitioner's father is no more. On account of non payment of consumption charges, the electricity connection was disconnected and later dismantled also. The petitioner now wants restoration.

3.The learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents submits that since request for restoration and re-connection was not made within two years, the petitioner will have to necessarily seek https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

only a new connection. She also submitted that the petitioner will have to pay a sum of Rs.78,812/- + Belated Payment Surcharge(BPSC) charges. The respondents are ready to give a new connection to the petitioner upon his making an application for the same, on payment of the said charges. The learned standing counsel further assured that the moment the charges are paid and proper application is given, the new connection will be given without any delay. 4.Recording the said submission, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
