O R D E R

This Criminal Original petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to file final report in Crime No.116 of 2017 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Criminal side) appearing for the respondent.

3. It is stated that on the basis of the complaint given by one Ambika, dated 11.03.2017, a case was registered in Crime No.116 of 2017 for the offences under Sections 452, 294(b), 506(ii) I.P.C., and Section 3(1) of TNPPDL Act 1992. It is further stated that petitioner is not involved in the crime and he is foisted in the above case. It is also stated that due to personal motive, the case was registered by arraying the petitioner as one of the accused. Because of the pendency of the said complaint, the petitioner is being put to unnecessary harassment. It is in these circumstances, the petitioner states that he is constrained to file the above petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate(Criminal Side) however, on instructions submitted that final report has already been filed and that within one month, the respondent will see to it that the final report is taken on file.
