ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 498(A) and 506 (i) of IPC., in Crime No.9 of 2014 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner married the defacto complainant in the year 2012 and it is alleged that the petitioner used to get drunk and not only beat her but also caused burn injuries on her by putting cigarette butts all over her body.
3. It is represented by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) that matrimonial proceedings are pending between the petitioner and the defacto complainant and the petitioner is absconding.
4. Taking into consideration of the gravity of allegations in the complaint, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
