This writ petition has been filed seeking permission to conduct the "Kabadi Match" from 06.01.2018 night 10.00 p.m to 07.01.2018 10.00 p.m and to provide police protection on the same to the village temple by considering the petitioner's representation dated 30.12.2017.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is one of the members of the Festival Committee of "Punitha Viyakula Matha Church situate at Pothamettupatti, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District and the villagers of the said village are conducting the temple festival for the past 12 years and this year, they have decided to conduct the 13th year festival. During the above said festival, they have decided to conduct the Kabadi Match from 06.01.2018 night 10.00 p.m to 07.01.2018 10.00 p.m. Hence, he seeks police protection for the same. 4.Considering the said submissions, the second respondent/Inspector of Police, Manapparai Police Station, Trichy District is directed to consider the representation given by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a week from today.

5. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
