ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the the respondents 1 to 3 to dispose of the petitioner's application dated 09.01.2017 for obtaining saw mill licence in light of the recommendation made by the fourth respondent in Na.No.8/2017 dated 20.01.2017 under Wood Based Industries (Establishment and Regulation) Guidelines 2016 within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

2.Heard Mr.K.P.Sankara Kumara Kuruparan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Aayiram K.Selvakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 3.According to the petitioner, he has filed an application seeking licence to run sawmill in Thiruthangal before the first respondent. Subsequently, based on the direction given by the first respondent, the fourth respondent has sent recommendation as early as on 20.01.2017 and the matter was also placed before the District Level Committee. The petitioner has also appeared before the District Level Committee on 23.01.2017. Thereafter, no order has been passed so far and therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition. 4.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the fact that the first respondent has already initiated proceedings for granting licence, the first respondent is directed to complete the enquiry and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
