Heard the learned counsel on either side.
2. The petitioner is the founder of Keelavanoorani Pillayar Kovil Trust, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District. He claimed that the trust was started for the purpose of maintaining Pillayar Kovil, at Keelavanoorani bank which is situated at the banks of Oorani. The temple is situated in Survey No.164 to an extent of 0.72.0 Ares. The petitioner states that Kumbabishegam is to be conducted for the temple and that for the purpose of lighting Karpakiragam, Prakaram etc., electricity is required. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

The petitioner also placed reliance on the decree dated 21.06.2018 in O.S.No.219 of 2015 on the file of the Principal Subordinate Court, Pudukkottai, in which it had been declared that the petitioner is the trustee who is entitled to administer the temple in question. The petitioner had submitted an application dated 12.04.2019 seeking provision of adequate electricity connection. The petitioner's counsel states that respondents 2 and 3 herein are competent to take a decision on the said application.
4. Since no decision has been taken by the respondents till date, the respondents are directed to dispose of the petition mentioned application for grant of electricity connection to the petition mentioned temple on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. The Writ petition stands disposed of, accordingly. No costs.
