ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the body or person of the petitioner's daughter namely, Vishali, aged about 21 years, before this Court and set her at liberty forthwith.
2. Today, when the Habeas Corpus Petition is taken up for hearing the second respondent has produced the detenue, namely, Vishali. When she was enquired by us, she would state that, she had left the parental home on 17.02.2023 as she was compelled by her parents to marry her Aunt's son, which the detenue did not want and moreover, she wanted to pursue her studies, hence, she left the parents and stayed at Thanjavur in one of her 2/4
friend's house and recently she had returned back to Attukulam, where she claimed to have been staying in a family friend's house viz., Sankam and she does not want to go with her parents as she apprehends that, they would compel her to marry.
3. The petitioner / father also is present before this Court, when he was enquired, he submitted that he wanted to know whether the detenue was alive and that is why this Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed and if she says that, she does not want to come to the parents house and she wants to take her life according to her wish, let her take the life according to her wish and he will not interfere with the same, he contended.
4. The said submissions made by both the petitioner as well as the detenue are hereby recorded. By recording the same, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
