2. The petitioner herein challenges the eviction order issued by the respondents.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate submitted that the encroachment has already 2/4

3 W.P.(MD)NO.4508 OF 2020 been removed and nothing survives in the challenge mounted by the petitioner herein.

4. Be that as it may, we are prima facie satisfied that the petitioner belongs to economically poor category. He has given representation seeking allotment of alternative site. We permit the petitioner to submit fresh application to the District Collector, Ramanathapuram. The District Collector is directed to consider the same by allotting alternative site to the petitioner if he is otherwise eligible. Such decision will be taken by the first respondent within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after the submission of fresh application by the petitioner herein. This writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
