ORDER

The present petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to give permission and police protection to conduct Shri Valli Thirumana Drama on 16.02.2026 from 10.00 P.m to 5.00 a.m in connection with Masi Maga Sivarathiri Festival of Arulmigu Sri Periyanan, Sri Poovalingaswamy Temple situated at Udayaservaikaran Patti, Thiruchuli Taluk, Virudhunagar District.

2. The learned Government Advocate(Crl. Side) vehemently objected stating that already there are several cases filed including Arms Act.

3.Considering the rival submissions, this Court is of the considered opinion that permission may be granted with strict conditions by restricting the 2/4

time. Therefore, the respondent police is directed to accord permission for conducting Shri Valli Thirumana Drama on 17.12.2026 between 07.00 p.m, and 10.00 p.m. with all other usual conditions.

4. With this direction, this Writ Petition is allowed. No Costs.
