2. The petitioner has not impleaded the jurisdictional Police. The petitioner therefore shall obtain Police verification report. After the verification report is obtained, if the verification report discloses that the criminal case against the petitioner is only at the FIR stage, then the passport can be issued. If it discloses that the petitioner is having a clean record, then also passport can be issued. If the case against the petitioner is pending in the trial stage, the petitioner will have to get order from the Trial Magistrate. In any event, the verification report shall be obtained from the respondent within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
