The petitioner, an Inspector of Police, who was placed under suspension and issued with a charge memo dated 18.05.2022, has filed 1/3

this writ petition seeking a direction to defer the departmental proceedings pending the criminal trial in S.C.No.289 of 2021 on the file of the learned V Additional District and Sessions Court, Madurai.

2. When this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel on either side submits that the criminal case in S.C.No.289 of 2021 ended in conviction and the petitioner was sentenced to undergo eleven years imprisonment. Further, the departmental proceeding was also concluded by removing the petitioner from service on 09.10.2025.

3. Recording the submission of the learned counsel on either side, this writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
