Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to issue passport on the petitioner's application with File No.MD1061542227112 dated 26.04.2022 based on his representation dated 03.02.2023.

ORDER

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner applied for issuance of passport. It stated that the application was submitted through a travel agent. Since submission of bogus document was noticed, passport was not issued to the petitioner. In this regard, based on the complaint of the passport authority, Crime No.23 of 2013 was registered on the file of District Crime Branch, Ramanthapuram. It is stated that the case is still pending at the FIR stage.

3.Attention of the Superintendent of Police, Ramanthapuram is drawn to this. The Superintendent of Police will ensure that final report is filed within a period of three months from today. The petitioner shall be shown as witness in the FIR and the petitioner is directed to extend his fullest cooperation by making full and frank disclosure of all facts. 4.The petitioner is permitted to submit a fresh application for issuance of passport. If there is no impediment and subject to fulfilment of other usual formalities, the petitioner's application shall be favourably considered.

5.This writ petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. No costs.
