ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking to direct the respondent to provide retirement benefits to the petitioner by duly calculating the same, based on his representation dated 19.07.2018, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard Mr. M.S. Jeyakarthik, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. P. Balasubramanian, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.07.2018, with regard to payment of retirement benefits, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.
