By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to take appropriate action to give pension, family pension, arrears and other monetary benefits, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 16.10.2017.

3.Heard Mr.S.Sivakumar, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Muruganantham, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents.

4.According to the learned Counsel for the petitioner, the grievance of the petitioner is that he was originally working as a Village Karnam and that is a post which was abolished in the year 1980 and subsequently, the petitioner was working as Village Panchayat Clerk for some time. Though he had worked nearly for 25 years in both posts, no pension has been given to the petitioner. Hence, he made a request to the respondents to consider his service and grant pension.

5.In this regard, the petitioner has given representation dated 25.09.2017 and 16.10.2017. However, no order so far has been passed. Hence, the learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that if the said representations are directed to be considered by the respondents and pass orders within the time to be stipulated by this Court, the petitioner would be satisfied.

6.I have heard the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents in this regard. 7.Considering the said request made by the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of with the following direction:

7.1.The first respondent is directed to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 25.09.2017 and 16.10.2017 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders thereon with regard to the request of the petitioner for grant of pension by calculating his past service as Karnam, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 8.With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, in the circumstances of the case, there shall be no order as to costs.
