O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to conduct enquiry based on the petitioner's representation dated 16.02.2023 and to conduct Jallikattu function without any communal color and permit to participate the petitioner in Jallikattu function.
2. Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that there was a communal clash in the village and that therefore, the rival group people have not allowed the petitioner to participate in the Jallikattu function. With regard to the same, he has made a representation on 16.02.2023 to the respondents, till now no action has been taken. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court. 2/5
4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that the Revenue Divisional Officer/second resondent, Thanjavur, decided to conduct peace committee meeting. He would futher submit that direction may be issued to the second respondent to convene the peace committee meeting and pass orders.
5. Heard the learned cousnel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.
6. In view of the above said submissions made by both the sides, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Thanjavur/second respondent, is directed to conduct peace committee meeting tomorrow itself and try to resolve the issue and depending upon the out come of the peace committee meeting resolution, further action may be taken by the Police. 7.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
