ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to call for the records pertaining to C.C.No.162 of 2020 in Crime No.131 of 2019 on the file of the respondent police, which is pending before the learned Additional Mahila Court at Tirunelveli and directing the respondent to conduct expeditious trial.

According to the petitioner, the petitioner is the de facto complainant in this case and based on the complaint given by the petitioner, the case has been registered in Crime No.131 of 2019 for the offences under Sections 448, 294(b), 323, 324, 427, 506(1) and 109 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002. The complaint was lodged in the year 2019 and the case has been assigned in C.C.No.162 of 2020 and so far no trial has been commenced. Therefore, the petitioner seeks to complete the trial.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that now the case is posted for framing charges and they will 2/5

cooperate for speedy disposal of the case and they will produce the witnesses as directed by the Trial Court.

Since the case is pending from 2019 and so far, the Trial has not been commenced and the case is posted for framing of charges, this Court directs the Trial Court, namely, learned Additional Mahila Court at Tirunelveli to expedite the trial proceedings in C.C.No.162 of 2020, without giving long adjournment beyond 15 days and to dispose the case as early as possible.

5. With the above said observations, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
