O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the fourth respondent to act on the petitioner's representations dated 05.02.2018, 28.02.2018, 06.03.2018 and 24.03.2018 and accord police protection to the employees, plant and machinery at the premises of the petitioner company thereby ensuring unhindered ingress and egress to and from the premises of the petitioner company at SIPCOT Industrial Complex, Therkuveerapandiapuram Village, Ottapidaram Taluk, Thoothukudi District.
2.According to the petitioner, the petitioner has made representations to the fourth respondent / Superintendent of Police, Thoothukudi, on various occasions to accord adequate police protection to the petitioner company and its employees. Since no action has been taken and the protestors have blocked the free flow of vehicle movement, this present writ petition has been filed with the aforesaid prayer.
3.The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents opposed the submission made by the learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner stating that the representations made by the petitioner has been considered and action also has been taken on several occasions by the fourth respondent. The same has been disclosed in paragraph No.5 of the counter affidavit. Therefore, there is no subsistence in the contention of the learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner.
4.In view of the above, it is open to the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the authorities concerned, if necessary. In the event of filing such representation, the authorities concerned are directed to consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law.
5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
