ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to accept the petitioner's application for admission in the first respondent Training Institute for ITI Fashion Design and Technology course without demanding an Aadhaar card or Aadhaar number.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that she has applied for ITI Fashion Design and Technology course for the year 2022-23 to the first respondent Training Institute. However, since she did not submit her Aadhaar card, the first respondent has refused to receive her application. In such circumstances, she has filed this Writ 1/3

Petition.

3. Heard Mr.K.Govindarajan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.N.GA.Nataraj, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the first respondent and Mrs.B.Deepa, learned Central Government Standing Counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the second respondent.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner does not have an Aadhaar card and instead of the same, the petitioner is willing to produce any other address proof recognized by the Government. Today, learned counsel for the petitioner has placed before this Court, the voter's identity card of the petitioner issued by the Election Commission of India, disclosing the name of the petitioner as well as disclosing her residential address.

5. Mr.N.GA.Nagaraj, learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent, on instructions, would submit that the first respondent is willing to accept the same.

Accordingly, this Court directs the first respondent to accept the petitioner's application seeking for admission in the ITI Fashion Design and Technology course for the year 2022-23 provided the same is accompanied by the voter's identity card of the petitioner issued by the Election Commission of India, without insisting upon the production of the Aadhaar card.

7. With the aforesaid directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
