Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to give adequate Police protection for the worshipers to worship the deity alone and not to permit anybody to get First Honor at Sri Aadheeswaran Temple, Vilacheri Village on account of Maski Kalari festival namely Mahasivaraatri is scheduled to be held on 15.02.2026 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 11.02.2026 within a stipulated period as framed by this Court.

ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to give adequate Police protection for the worshipers to worship the deity alone and not to permit anybody to get First Honor at Sri Aadheeswaran Temple, Vilacheri Village on account of Maski Kalari festival namely Mahasivaraatri https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

is scheduled to be held on 15.02.2026 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 11.02.2026 within a stipulated period as framed by this Court. 2.It is not clear whether the First Honor was granted to the petitioner or any other person. If there is any recognition by any Court decree or by appropriate forum, the same may be conferred. If such recognition is not granted, the parties may approach the appropriate forum to confirm their rights. The respondents are directed to grant permission to conduct the Mahashivratri festival. Anybody can worship during the Mahashivaratri festival and there cannot be any discrimination. 3.With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
