Respondents Prayer :- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to implement his order made in Proc.No.V1/21854/2018 dated 27.08.2019 in letter and spirit and consequently direct the first respondent to give effective assistance to the second respondent in the election process to the post of General Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, Kanyakumari District Branch in order to effectively implement the order of the first respondent made in Proc.No.V1/21854/2018 dated 27.08.2019.

ORDER

This writ petition is filed for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to implement his order made in Proc.No.V1/21854/2018, dated 27.08.2019 in letter and spirit and consequently, direct the first respondent to give effective assistance to the second respondent in the election process to the post of General Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, Kanyakumari District Branch, in order to effectively implement the order of the first respondent cited supra.

2. Since the District Collector, Kanyakumari District, officiates as the President of the Indian Red Cross Society and taking into account the fact that the period of office had come to an end as early as in the year 2021, the District Collector, Kanyakumari, is directed to initiate steps for conducting an election of the second respondent. The process shall

positively be commenced within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and thereafter, within two months, the election shall be completed.

3. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
