PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 & 2 to expedite the enquiry and to pass orders in respect of management and properties of public temple namely Arulmighu Angala Parameshwari Thirukovil at Srivilliputhur Town, Virudhunagar District by appointing a Fit person within the time stipulated by this Court.

The petitioner has submitted a representation for appointment of a fit person for Arulmighu Angala Parameshwari Temple at Srivilliputhur, Virudhunagar District and filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, directing the respondents to expedite the enquiry and to pass orders in respect of management and properties of Arulmighu Angala Parameshwari Thirukovil situated at Srivilliputhur Town, Virudhunagar District by appointing a Fit person.

2.Today(28.02.2024), when this writ petition is taken up for admission, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents based on the written instructions, dated 04.09.2023 submits that on the representation of this petitioner, a report was called for from the Inspector of HR & CE Department and the Inspector of HR & CE Department has filed a report before 2/5

the Assistant Commissioner, HR & CE Department and the Assistant Commissioner would take a decision within eight weeks. 3.Recording the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader that a report has already been filed by the Inspector of HR & CE Department before the Assistant Commissioner/the first respondent and a decision alone has to be taken by the Assistant Commissioner, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner, HR & CE Department, Virudhunagar/the first respondent to take a decision on the representation of this petitioner as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
