Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to take effective steps to put up additional wide paths to entry and exit of Madurai Airport, Madurai District and to regulate and control the extra vehicles which comes into the Madurai Airport with the VIPs and political leaders by considering the representation of the petitioner, dated 02.04.2019 and in the light of the proceedings in Memo.No.5551/Saalai/2019, dated 22.05.2019 passed by the third respondent within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH,J.] It is the grievance of the petitioner that the entry and exit road to the Madurai Airport is very narrow and requires to be widened. Hence, he has filed the present Public Interest Litigation for the said relief.

2. In the opinion of this Court, it is for the authorities to take a call on all these aspects and it is beyond the jurisdiction of this Court to entertain such petitions. However, the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the State produced a copy of letter dated 02.01.2020 from the Divisional Engineer, Highways Department, Madurai, to the Superintending Engineer, Highways Department, Madurai, stating that there is a proposal to widen the said road at the cost of Rs.1,342 Lakhs. When the 2/4

Government is seized of the matter, it is inappropriate for this Court to issue any direction in this regard. Hence, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
