[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Today, Mr.R.Suresh, Sub-Inspector of Police, Alangulam Police Station, Tirunelveli District, is present.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that his wife Muthulakshmi, aged about 24 years, went missing since 07.03.2017 and hence, this habeas corpus petition has been filed.

3. It is seen that the respondent - Police have filed a status

report, wherein it is stated that on the complaint given by Sivagami, mother of the detenu, a case in Alangulam Police Station Crime No.46 of 2017 for woman missing has been registered and the investigation is in progress.

4. On perusal of the status report, we find that the respondent - Police are taking earnest steps to trace the detenu Muthulakshmi. It is not the case of the petitioner that the detenu Muthulakshmi is in the illegal custody of anyone. Under such circumstances, the habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Alangulam Sub-Division, Tirunelveli District, to monitor the investigation in Crime No.46 of 2017 that is being conducted by the Inspector of Police, Alangulam Police Station, Tirunelveli District, and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any, from time to time.
