This Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the first respondent to dispose of the statutory appeal preferred by the petitioner dated 28.08.2025 against the proceedings of the second respondent in Na.Ka.No.1043063/2023/C3 dated 23.07.2025 within a time frame stipulated by this Court.
2.By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3.The learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is a licensed arms dealer holding a license in Form VIII and the same has been periodically renewed. While so, the second respondent has passed an order dated 23.07.2025, rejecting the petitioner's request for renewal of Form VIII license. Aggrieved by the said order, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the first respondent on 28.08.2025. Since the said appeal is pending 2/5
consideration, the petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition.
4.Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the appeal of the petitioner would be considered by the first respondent and disposed of in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 5.Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 28.08.2025, within a period of nine [9] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
