O R D E R

The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition, seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to give permission and protection to conduct Jallikattu scheduled on 03.06.2019 at Vegukanmoi, P.Usilampatti Village, Keela Vegupatti, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District.

2.Heard Mr.R.Sivalingam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Suyambulinga Bharathi, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents. 3.The case of the petitioner is that he is the Organizer of the Vizha Committee of Sree Egaliamman, Chinna Karuppar Temple, situated at Keelavegupatti, P.Usilampatti for several years. This year, the villagers have decided to conduct a jallikattu function in respect of Vaigasi Pongal festival in the said temple on 03.06.2019. In this regard, the villagers gave a representation to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the respondents 1 to 3, on 26.04.2019. Since there is no action taken till date, the petitioner has come forward with this writ petition.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) has also assured for considering the representation, dated 26.04.2019, given by the petitioner.

5.Hence, on considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court comes to a conclusion that it is appropriate to give some direction to the respondents for disposing the representation within a specified time.

"Accordingly, the respondents are directed to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 26.04.2019, on merits and in accordance with law, on or before 01.06.2019." 6.Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of.
