Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 03.03.2021 and to give permission to conduct Panguni Festival scheduled to be held from 02.04.2021 to 13.04.2021 in connection with Arulmighu Sri Mariamman Thirukovil at T.N.Puthukudi.

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2.The present petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to grant permission to conduct Panguni Festival scheduled to be held from 02.04.2021 to 13.04.2021 in connection with Arulmighu Sri Mariamman Thirukovil at T.N.Puthukudi. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.5484 of 2021 3.Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents, on instructions, would contend that there are rival claimants and therefore, the permission sought for by the petitioner was reflected. He would further contend that seven criminal cases are pending in this regard against the petitioner.

4.Recording the same, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
