O R D E R
With consent of both parties, this petition is taken up for disposal at the time of admission itself.
2. Mr.R.M.Anbunithi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents.
3. This petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondents herein to grant permission for conduct of the Kumbabhiseka - Balalayam function at Sri Sangili Andavar Kovil situated at Vadakkuvel Veethi, Thiruvalluvar Street, Thriuvanaikkaval, Trichy District, on 23.02.2025 with adequate police protection based on the petitioner's representation, dated 03.02.2025.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that he is the President of the temple, namely, Sri Sangili Andavar Kovil, situated at Page No. 2 of 6
Vadakku-vel Veethi, Thiruvalluvar Street, Thriuvanaikkaval, Trichy District. The temple is being administrated by Sri Sangili Andavar Madurai Veeran Kovil Arakattalai, which is registered in Registration No. 117 of 2023 on 14.12.2023 and also the petitioner is the present President of the Temple. While so, they decided to conduct Kumbabhiseka - Balalayam function for the temple. The earlier Kumbabhiseka - Balalayam function was held on 18.01.2013. After completion of 12 years, they wanted to conduct the Kumbabhiseka - Balalayam function on 23.02.2025. Therefore, he sent a representation to the respondents for seeking permission through his representation, dated 03.02.2025 to conduct Kumbabhiseka - Balalayam function and for police protection. Since the same was not considered by the respondents police, he filed this petition.
5. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents would submit that there are two rival groups claiming rights over the temple and thereby, there is a chance for law and order issue. If the petitioner undertakes to conduct the Kumbabhiseka - Balalayam function in a peaceful manner, without creating any law and order issue, they have no objection.

6. This Court heard both sides and perused the records.
7. Since already Kumbabhiseka - Balalayam function is scheduled on 23.02.2025 and also considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this petition, this Court is inclined to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Kumbabhiseka - Balalayam function, without creating any law and order issue and also observing the relevant Rules, the second respondent police is directed to provide adequate police protection.
8. It is made clear that this Court does not decide any rights of the parties in respect of the temple and the order is only in respect of conducting Kumbabhiseka - Balalayam function.
9. With the above said observations and directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
