Respondents Prayer: This Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first and second respondents to cancel the UDR patta in the name of the third to seventh respondents and further direct the second respondent to issue the patta to the petitioner with regard to land in Survey No.113/6, to an extent of 3 Acre 88 Cents situated at Pandavarmangalam Village, Kovilpatti Taluk, Thoothukudi District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 27.02.2020. ORDER

The relief sought for by the petitioner in this Writ Petition cannot be granted by this Court, since the petitioner is seeking for a correction in the UDR patta and it is only the District Revenue Officer, who has the power and jurisdiction to deal with the same. W.P.(MD).No.8139 of 2021 application or representation to the concerned District Revenue Officer. The petitioner has only made representation to the District Collector and the Tahsildar and both these authorities are not vested with any power or jurisdiction to make changes in the UDR patta.

2. In view of the above, it is left open to the petitioner to make proper application / representation before the concerned District Revenue Officer and work out his remedy in accordance with law.

3. This Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
