The appellant, who was convicted for an offence under Section 302 of IPC, was sentenced to undergo life imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand only) and in default, to undergo six months rigorous imprisonment, has filed this Criminal Appeal as against the judgment of the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, Pudhukottai, made in S.C.No.89 of 2005, dated 31.01.2006.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the appellant / accused No.1 submitted that the appellant underwent sentence for nearly 17 years 2/5
and she was granted the premature release by virtue of G.O.Ms.No.618, Home (Pri-IV) Department, dated 24.09.2022.
3. In view of the above development, we do not deem fit to deal with this Criminal Appeal on merits, at this length of time. The learned counsel submitted that if the appellant indulges in crime after her release, premature release granted to her will stand cancelled. We hope that the appellant does not indulge in any such crimes and for a mere apprehension, we do not want to waste our time in hearing this Criminal Appeal at this length of time.
4. In view of the above, this Criminal Appeal stands disposed of in the above terms.
