P RAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue a new Patta for the petitioner's property in Survey No.274/1A, measuring 0.49.59 hectares of Punja land and Survey No.274/4 measuring 0.04.00 hectares of Punja land situated in Sindalavadampatty Village, Oddanchatram Taluk, Dindigul District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 10.12.2024.

With the consent of the parties, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner seeks limited relief of issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to issue patta to the petitioner.
3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

The grievance of the petitioner is that while issuing orders of cancellation of patta on 28.06.2023 in respect of survey number 274/6A, the sixth respondent has inadvertently removed the entire patta even in respect of the other survey numbers which are admittedly not under challenge. The petitioner therefore, made a representation to the respondents to restore the patta No.321 by making an application on 15.10.2023, of course, excluding the survey number 274/6A. The petitioner has followed up the said representation with another representation on 10.12.2024 and since no steps have been taken pursuant to the said representation, the petitioner has been constrained to move the instant writ petition.

The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the mistake in ommitting the entire survey numbers other than the survey number 274/6A in the petitioner's name was only an inadvertant deletion and steps are being taken to correct the records and to issue new patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the other survey numbers. He further submit that the process being elaborate, sufficient time would 3/6
have to be granted. Considering the fact that the petitioner has made a representation way back on 15.10.2023 and same is pending on the file of the second and sixth respondents, the second and sixth respondents shall expedite the process and shall take steps to issue patta in respect of the survey numbers 274/1A and 274/4 within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
