O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 14.10.2025 in respect of the UDR error in S.Nos.144/3 and 146/13 situated at Kattukuthagai Karisalkulam Village, K.Sevalpatti, Kariapatti Taluk, Aruppukottai Division, Virudhunagar District.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject properties belong to the petitioner and his brothers and sister. During the UDR scheme, errors occurred in respect of the subject properties, as a result of which pattas were issued in the names of third parties. Aggrieved thereby, the petitioner filed an appeal before the first respondent on 14.10.2025 seeking rectification of the UDR errors and issuance of patta in their favour. However, no orders have been passed so far and the petitioner's appeal has not been disposed of. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition. Page No. 2 of 5

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's appeal dated 14.10.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the first respondent within a period of twelve weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 14.10.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The appeal shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The first respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. There shall be no order as to costs.
