O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to remove the wrong entry in the computerized patta relating to Survey No.138/1 situated at Theneripatti Village, Thiruverumbur Taluk, Trichy District and to issue a computerized patta in the petitioner's favour pursuant to the proceedings of the second respondent in O.Mu.No.5192/2025 (A7) dated 13.10.2025.
2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that he is the absolute owner of the subject property. When he applied for transfer of patta from his father's name to his name, he came to know that the land had been classified as 'Tharisu' and therefore, a computerized patta could not be granted in his favour through the online portal. Thereafter, the petitioner Page No. 2 of 5
filed a civil suit in O.S.No.1065 of 2017 before the I Additional Subordinate Court, Trichy, seeking declaration and permanent injunction, which came to be decreed in his favour on 24.10.2024. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 22.09.2025 to the respondents. The second respondent, by proceedings dated 13.10.2025, directed the third respondent to take necessary action and submit a report. However, no further action has been taken and the representation is kept pending. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the enquiry on the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 would be concluded and appropriate orders would be passed by the second respondent within a period of sixteen weeks.
5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to conclude the enquiry on the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 and pass appropriate orders Page No. 3 of 5
on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The second respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order.
