2. The learned standing counsel for the local body points out that the writ petitioner's father passed away on 04.07.2017. Since the death was not registered within one year, then, it is only the RDO who is the competent authority to register and issue the death certificate. The local body can only issue the non-availability certificate. This certificate has already been issued by the corporation on 12.05.2022. Nothing further can be done by the respondent. The petitioner has to pursue his remedy against the RDO.
