This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent No.2 to provide inter-cast marriage certificate to the petitioner and her husband by considering petitioner's representation dated 24.09.2018 within the time stipulated by this Court.
2. The case of the petitioner is that she belongs to Hindu Schedule Caste Community (Pallar) and she married one Ramamoorthi who belongs to Hindu(Maravar) Backward Community on 02.02.2017. She got married as per Hindu rites and customs before the Marriage Registrar Office, Madurai South Registrar Office, Madurai, in Serial number 104 of 2017. The petitioner has applied for Government employment and for the same, she needs inter-caste marriage certificate from the second respondent to get some preference in the selection.

The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner is residing in Madurai and her residential address given in the application is 1/49, Velarenthal, Chethapal Village, Kalayarkovil Taluk, Sivagangai District, and she sought for inter-caste marriage certificate from the Tahsildar, Kalayarkovil, Sivagangai District. When the Tahsildar enquired regarding the said marriage, it was found that the inter-caste marriage has been conducted between the petitioner and her husband. But she has registered the said marriage in Madurai Sub Registrar Office and they are not in a position to pursue further.

Considering the above stated facts, the petitioner is directed to appear before the concerned authorities at Sivagangai in person along with the marriage registration certificate issued by the Madurai South Registrar office within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and the Tahsildar, Kalayarkovil, Sivagangai District is directed to consider the petitioner's case and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks thereafter.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
