ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to proceed with the further investigation and file the final report in Crime No.48 of 2024 on the file of the respondent police.

2. The petitioner is the accused in this case and FIR has been registered on 26.06.2024 in Crime No.48 of 2024 for the offences under Sections 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and Section 14C of the Foreigners Act, 1946 and the petitioner is in judicial custody. But no proper investigation was conducted and so far not filed any final report. Therefore, the petitioner filed this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that the investigation in this case is still pending and as per the investigation, some other accused also involved in this case and they are absconding and thereby, they are taking steps to secure the accused. 2/4

However, they will complete the investigation and file the final report within three months.

4. Considering the above said submissions of the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent and recording the same, this Court directs the respondent to complete the enquiry and file final report within a period of three (3) months from the date of this order.

5. With the above said directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
