O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the first respondent to give permission and sufficient police protection to conduct Jallikattu @ Manjuvirattu to be held on 23.04.2018 at Yenathi Village, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 19.03.2018.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that in the festival of the temple viz., "Sri Mangalakattu Ayyanar Kovil"
is scheduled to be held on 23.04.2018. The petitioner and the village peoples have decided to conduct "Manjuvirattu (Jallikattu)" in connection with the said temple at Yenathi Village, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District, therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation, dated 19.03.2018, to the first respondent, requesting them to grant permission therefor.
Since no order has been passed on the said representation, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition, for the above mentioned relief.
4.Considering the aforesaid submission, without expressing any opinion on merits, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.03.2018 on merits and in accordance with law. The petitioner shall produce a copy of the representation dated 19.03.2018 before the first respondent along with a copy of this order.
5.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
