Respondents PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner for appointment as the Block Educational Officer in the vacant post in Ottanchathiram Block, Palani Educational District, Dindigul District within the time stipulated by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2.The writ petitioner was working as the Block Educational Officer in the year 2017 in Guziliamparai Block in Dindigul District. The petitioner faced harassment at the hands of some departmental staff, which led to her getting relieved and going back as Middle School Headmistress in Balakrishnapuram. The petitioner is now willing to go back as Block Educational Officer. The petitioner states that at present there are vacancies in the said post at Ottanchathiram as well as Palani. The petitioner has given a representation dated 19.03.2019 for being accommodated in any one of these vacancies. All that the petitioner wants its consideration of the said request made by representation dated 20.05.2019. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3.The learned Special Government Pleader pointed out that the petitioner can as well take part in the counselling that may by held in June-2019.

4.I am of the view that the case on hand will have to be approached from a different perspective. It is not in dispute that the petitioner was earlier working as Block Educational Officer. Only on account of the extraordinary circumstances already referred to above, she had to temporarily relieve herself and go back as a Headmistress.

5.Therefore, in the interest of justice, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.05.2019 and pass orders thereon within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly.
