O R D E R

The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition, seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members, pursuant to the complaint dated 26.05.2019. 2.Heard Mr.G.R.Deepak, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Suyambulinga Bharathi, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents. 3.The case of the petitioner is that due to a property dispute, the younger brother of the petitioner viz., J.K.Jhonson is threatening the petitioner and his family members. In this regard, the petitioner has already given a written complaint to the second respondent on 15.05.2019. He has also given a representation, dated 27.05.2019 in this regard. Since no action has been taken by the respondents till date, the petitioner has come forward with this Criminal Original Petition.

4.On the other hand, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) made a submission that no complaint has been received from the petitioner in this regard. Further, he made assurance as the Police people are ready to take appropriate action. 5.In the said circumstances, considering the facts and circumstances of the case, it is appropriate to give some direction to the respondents as follows:

"The petitioner is directed to give an application to the respondent Police, seeking police protection within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the said application, the respondent Police shall take appropriate action and dispose of the said application, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks thereafter".
