Respondents PRAYER : This Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a Writ Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary police protection to perform the cultural programme i.e., Aadal Padal Dance programme on 08.06.2019 at 7.00 p.m., to 11.00 p.m., in the festival of Arulmigu Sri Muthalamman Thirukoil at Lakshmipuram, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant permission and protection to conduct the Adal Padal programme on 08.06.2019 at 7.00 p.m., to 11.00 p.m., in connection with the festival of Arulmigu Sri Muthalamman Thirukoil situated at Lakshmipuram, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that seeking permission and protection to conduct the Adal Padal Programme on 08.06.2019 in connection with the festival of the above said temple, the petitioner made a representation on 11.05.2019 to the second respondent and the said representation was not considered so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed for the aforesaid relief.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the case, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 11.05.2019 and pass suitable orders on merits and in accordance with law, forthwith.

5. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
