Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to settle interest at 6% per annum for the belated payment of the petitioner's terminal benefits from the date of his retirement to till the date on which the said benefit were settled to him.

The prayer in the writ petition is for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to settle interest at 6% per annum for the belated payment of the petitioner's terminal benefits from the date of his retirement till the date on which the said benefit were settled to him.
2. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Heard Ms.J.Balameenakshi, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.Sathiya Singh, learned standing counsel for the respondents.
4. The petitioner seeks to issue a direction to the respondents to consider his representation dated 27.03.2018 for settling interest at 6% per annum for the belated payment of service benefits to the petitioner.
5. Heard the learned standing counsel for the respondents in this regard.
6. In view of the innocuous nature of the prayer sought for herein in this writ petition, the writ petition is disposed of with the following direction:
That the respondents are hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.03.2018 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
