ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the first respondent to issue the passport to the petitioner based upon his application dated 07.11.2025.
2. The learned Government Advocate(crl.side) appearing for the 2nd and 3rd respondents brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner has been implicated in a criminal case in Cr.No.651 of 2022 on the file of the third respondent police which has culminated in filing of a charge sheet before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Oddanchatram, on 17.06.2025. Due to memo of objections raised by the said Court, so far the same has not been taken on file.
3. A perusal of an FIR relates that it is arising out of protest in the road due to political agitation. Considering the fact that so far the trial Court has not taken cognizance, there is no legal impediment for the first respondent to 2/4
consider the request of the petitioner for issuance of the passport. The first respondent is directed to consider the request of the petitioner for issuance of the passport within a period of 4(four) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
