Respondents PRAYER :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing Respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner for one day between 8.00 am and 4.00 PM during the period from 19.02.2026 to 27.02.2026 to harvest the paddy crops cultivated by the petitioner in Survey Nos.92/4 and 91/1A situated at Vannampaaraipatti Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.02.2025.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner to harvest the paddy crops cultivated by the petitioner in Survey Nos. 92/4 and 91/1A situated at Vannampaaraipatti Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.02.2025.

2. According to the petitioner, he is the owner of the land, which is not disputed or objected to by Respondents 4 to 7. However, Respondents 4 to 7 claim that they are cultivating tenants.

It is seen that the respondents 4 to 7 names have not been entered as cultivating tenants in any of the revenue records and not a single Kist or Adangal stands in the names of the respondents 4 to 7. However, it is seen that they have filed a suit in O.S.No.199 of 2025 and notice has been issued to the Revenue Authority on 05.09.2012 regarding their claim of cultivating tenancy rights.

4. Only a notice has been issued and there is no order in favour of respondents 4 to 7 recognizing their rights as cultivating tenants. Therefore, Respondents 4 to 7 cannot interfere with the petitioner's land.

5. In view of the above, the respondents 1 to 3 are directed to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner's land in Survey Nos. 92/4 and 91/1A situated at Vannampaaraipatti Village, Melur Taluk, 3/5

Madurai District, to harvest the paddy crops on paying the necessary charges.

With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
