Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to give the permission and adequate police protection for conducting Karakattam scheduled to be held on 14.06.2019 in the eve of Arulmigu 'Sri Kaliyamman and Sri Mooppanar Temple' Vaikasi Pongal festival belongs to Thennarasur Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 31.05.2019. This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to give permission and adequate police protection for conducting Karakattam scheduled to be held on 14.06.2019 in the eve of Arulmigu 'Sri Kaliyamman and Sri Mooppanar Temple' Vaikasi Pongal festival belonging to Thennarasur Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 31.05.2019.

The grievance of the petitioner is that seeking permission and police protection to conduct the Karakattam on 14.06.2019 in connection with "Vaikasi Pongal Festival" of the above said temple, the petitioner has given a representation on 31.05.2019 to the second respondent and the said representation was not https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

considered so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed for the aforesaid relief.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the case, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 31.05.2019 and pass suitable orders on merits and in accordance with law, forthwith.

5. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
