ORDER

Seeking a direction to the third respondents to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members on the basis of his representation dated 01.02.2026 in accordance with law, this petition is filed.

2. Since no adverse order is proposed to be passed against the fourth respondent, notice to him is dispensed with.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that due to land dispute, the fourth respondent abused him in filthy language and also threatened him through phone. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint against the fourth respondent. Based on which, a case in Crime No.27 of 2026 has been registered against the fourth respondent by the second respondent for the offence under Sections 294(b) and 351 of BNS, 2023. However, even thereafter, the fourth respondent has not learned to restrict his behaviour and he is continuing to harass the petitioner and hence, he sought indulgence of this Court to direct the third respondent to afford police protection. 2/5

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that so for no representation has been received from the petitioner seeking police protection.

5. Heard the learned counsels on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

6. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh application to the third respondent through registered post or in person. On receipt of such representation, the third respondent is directed to consider the said representation and afford necessary police protection, if the threat is subsisting, on payment of the necessary charges in terms of G.O(Ms)No.139, Home (Pol~VIII) Department, dated 04.03.2019.

7. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
