Ms. No.78, Labour and Employment (Q1) Department, dated 21.04.2017 based on petitioner's representation dated 19.02.2016.

Heard Mr.M.Siddharthan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Srimathy, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.

The petitioner has filed the writ petition seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.02.2016 for compassionate appointment to the petitioner in the light of G.O. Ms. No.78, Labour and Employment (Q1) Department, dated 21.04.2017. The petitioner's father Chandrabose, who was working as Grade-I Police Constable, died in harness on 21.11.1994. appointment on compassionate ground as Junior Assistant and was awaiting appointment. However, in the meantime, the petitioner's mother decided to get the petitioner married and accordingly, she got married to Tr.Arumugam, who was working in the Police Department.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would state that though she has been married, she is supporting her mother and the mother is staying with her and she is to take care of her. The learned counsel further submitted that as per G.O. Ms. No.78, Labour and Employment (Q1) Department, dated 21.04.2017 even the married daughter is entitled for appointment.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner is not in an indigent status and her husband is police officer and she is very comfortably placed.

5. In any event, this Court cannot grant a positive direction to the petitioner, but, directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 19.02.2016 and 05.08.2016 and pass orders and communicate the same to the petitioner. The said exercise shall be done within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
