ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 5 to provide police protection to the petitioner and her daughter-inlaw by name Gopika and the petitioner's daughter by name Rajeswari in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents 6 and 7.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's son fell in love with the daughter of the sixth respondent herein and got married. Subsequently, her son was arrested and remanded to judicial custody in other case by the fourth respondent in Crime No.590 of 2021 and subsequently, he was detained under Act 14 of 1982 as a Goonda. Thereafter, the sixth respondent and henchman namely the seventh respondent had trespassed into the petitioner's house and illegally taken her daughter-in-law to their home. Immediately, she lodged complaint and the same has been registered in Crime No.74 of 2022 for the offences under Sections 147, 452, 342, 364 of I.P.C and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act against the sixth and seventh respondents.

They were also arrested and subsequently released on bail. Thereafter, the daughter-in-law of the petitioner was secured and she is now in the custody of the petitioner herein. Even then, she apprehends from the hands of the respondents 6 and 7 that her daughter-in-law will be taken away at any time. 4.Considering the above submission, the fifth respondent is directed to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and her daughter-in-law at their request in the manner known to law. 5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
